Emma Blantern was born and brought up in rural Shropshire, with her family and with a wide variety of pets. This rural lifestyle meant her early years were mainly spent exploring the hills and woodlands that were her playground, allowing her imagination to run wild.
Inspired by her Mother, Emma became involved in acting and the theatre world from the early age of 7 and this hobby stayed with her throughout her education, culminating in her appearing at the Edinburgh Festival on several occasion, working with a variety of touring theatre companies and also working in Theatre in Education for sometime. During this time she wrote, created and produced several pieces for performance and studied a HND in performing Arts.
This love of the arts and education led her to establishing a business which linked learning about nature and the environment with the arts. This business encouraged many children to get their hands dirty and explore the world around them and then enabled them to create a piece of artwork that reflected their experiences.
Having travelled widely and worked within a variety of industries, Emma focused her career path and became a Business Advisor for start up and fledgling businesses. During this time, she met and married her husband and started her family, Emma became a full time Mum and returned to self-employment.
Now running a successful holiday cottage business back in rural Shropshire where she lives with her family. Emma enjoys the busy rural lifestyle she enjoyed as a child.
Emma has rekindled her love of writing now and she is creating and publishing her first series of children's picture books based all around the adventures of the Magical tinsel-tailed cats and their owners the Christmas Witches, who all live in Broomtown.
